Our Vision & Beliefs

The New Hope Chapel Vision…

VisionMapPins_FinalOften the first question you are asked when someone learns you are a Christian is, “So, where do you go to church?” If it were up to us, we’d like to make that an impossible question to answer! Instead of us identifying with a church facility location, our vision for New Hope is to completely fill our region with followers of Jesus Christ who are all actively living out their faith everyplace they go! For many people, if you took away the church building, the programs, the Sunday services, and the church structure, they wouldn’t know what to do! But our faith was never supposed to be about buildings, budgets, programs or services…Jesus said that we are supposed to be a people who love God, care for each other, and who bring light to a dark world as we live by the power of His Holy Spirit! Our faith is supposed to be about daily walking in Jesus’ footsteps, not our affiliation with a religious organization.  Jesus went “to the people”, but if churches aren’t careful, they can sometimes end up just sitting back, opening their doors, and waiting for people to “come to them”.  Our sermons, small groups, Discipleship Workshops, Hands of Hope Outreach, and other ministries all try to put the emphasis on decentralizing church and on sending Christians into the world rather than expecting the world to come to them. Our church’s motto is, “people helping people to help people”, and it is based on the principle found in 2 Timothy 2:2 that our faith is meant to be shared! If you are interested in a non-traditional approach to church, living a non-traditional Christian faith, and reaching out to non-traditional people in our community, then consider joining us in our mission!

New Hope’s values:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the basis for real life, both today and for eternity.
  • Christians are meant to grow continuously in their devotion to Christ.
  • The Bible, God’s holy, inspired Word, conveys the Truth about life and is a unique example of special revelation by God for us to grow as Christians.
  • Life-change happens best through small group communities where discipleship and accountability occur.
  • Every Christian is a minister and is called to serve others. Christ calls each of us to reach out and love the lost and hurting world around us.

What New Hope Christian Chapel preaches & teaches:

  • The Authority of Scripture: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16
  • The Lord Jesus Christ: “That Christ died…was buried, and was raised on the third day.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4
  • The New Birth: “Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:3
  • Forgiveness of Sin: “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
  • Eternal Life: “I give them eternal life and they shall never perish.” John 10:28
  • Power to Live a Victorious Life: “Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ…” 2 Corinthians 2:14
  • Hope for the Future: “…while we wait for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”Titus 2:13

New Hope’s relationship to other churches:

  • We are an independent, interdenominational church, guided by a Council of Elders. We are not affiliated with any one particular denomination. We do, however, partner and work with many other local community churches and organizations to share in our common faith and vision to bring the message of Christ to the world.
